Carlos Baltodano graduated from UC Berkeley wIth a Bachelor of Architecture Degree and a Master’s Degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning.  Baltodano is currently the President and CEO  for Land development Consultants, and he is on the Board of Trustees for EOYDC (East Oakland Youth Development Center), and the Board for the Orinda Association. He serves as a Consultant for Interwest, Inc. Baltodano’s former positions include Planning Commissioner and Chair for City of Orinda; Director  of Contra Costa County; and Chief Building Official for City of Hayward.

Josephina Baltodano obtained a JD from the University of California, Hastings College of Law.  Baltodano is serving as Senior Associate for External Relations at UC Berkeley’s Center for Studies in Higher Education, and the Founding Executive Director of its Executive Leadership Academy.  Baltodano’s former positions include serving as President of Marian University; Vice President for University Research at John F. Kennedy University where she also served as Dean and Professor, School of Management; Director of the Academic Achievement Division at UCB, as well as Lecturer in the Ethnic Studies department.

Gloria Burkhalter

Gloria Burkhalter graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA Degree in Sociology, and she obtained a MS Degree in Counseling Education from Sacramento State University.  Burkhalter served as a Counselor and Director of Student Life Advising Services/Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) at UC Berkeley for over thirty-five years, and as Cal’s Chief Campus Coordinator for Academic Support and Enrichment Services. Burkhalter is also a Co-Founder of GOALS.
Sylvia Chaney-Williamson

Sylvia Chaney-Williamson graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA Degree in Criminology, and she obtained a Master’s Degree in City Planning from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).  Williamson served as a City Planner in the San Francisco Bay Area for seventeen years, followed by a Fire Inspector where she also served for seventeen years, enforcing a variety of fire laws, regulations and policies.   Williamson has been a member of GOALS since its inception in 1986.
Lisa Kala

Lisa Kala graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA degree in Psychology, MS in Counseling, and a PhD in Education.  Kala is the Faculty Director for UC Berkeley’s Academic Talent Development Program. Kala’s former positions include serving as an Assistant Dean of Administration and Special Projects at UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Education; directing the Excellence through Collaborative Opportunities Center, the school’s campuswide collaboration and partnership activities, the Educational Technology Services Center, coordinating Undergraduate Field Studies in Education; the School’s participation in Summer Sessions; the Evaluation Unit; and the Office of Communications.
Amarra Lee

Amarra Lee graduated from UC Berkeley with a double major in Rhetoric and African American Studies, and she obtained a JD from UC Hastings College of Law. Lee is currently a Judge for the County of San Mateo, and a Guest Lecturer for UC Hastings College of Law’s Legal Education Opportunity Program and the Council for Legal Education. Her former position include serving as a Senior Associate in Farella Braun + Martel’s White Collar Crime Defense practice group.
